Weaning off anti-depressants

I'm weaning off Lustral at the moment. I was on 150mg and gradually reduced that to 50mg. I've been on 50mg for about 6 months and now I'm trying to get off them completely. I've been taking half a tablet every 5 days or so. I find that the day after I take the half tablet I get a bit of vertigo. I don't know how I'm ever going to get off them
Anyone out there have any tips?

have you talked to your GP about your dosage and weaning?

lustral is a strong medication so its important to ensure you do the right thing - talk to a doc - and best of luck with your progress.

My GP gave me directions for weaning. I was supposed to keep going when I got to 50 mg but stayed on it. GP was on maternity leave and the locum just gave me a 6 month prescription!
I think my body is more dependent on it now than it was 6 months ago.

it might be possible that you feel more dependant - any of those meds are a delicate balancing act, but if you follow the gp's instructions i cant see a problem - maybe a quick tel call to the locum, he may not have read your file fully and just put you on a repeat when you didnt need it..

i would make another appointment and make sure that he talks you through it so you both know your programme.
