Macbook pro is getting HOT!

    Hi guys recently,and for no apparent reaso nmy mac is starting to heat up,when I'm not really running anything too demanding on it?
    just there a while ago the fans kicked in sounding like an old hair drier! :D
    all i was doing was browsing the web??

    here's the temps recorded

    Looks ok to me.

    Mine hits 71 when doing some tasks.

    Do those websites have flash (http://rentzsch.github.com/clicktoflash/ should solve most of your issues)

    Its not that hot!, mine is usually at a constant 70-73 degrees!

    Yeah, those temperatures aren't hot at all. Mine are roughly the same at the moment as well. My fans rarely kick in.

    All I'm doing at the moment is studying powerpoint files!

    I've Safari, Mail, iChat, Adium, Terminal, Tweetie and Keynote open.

    You can always use smcFanControl to manually control your fan speeds and keep them blasted up to 6000rpm if your that worried about the temp!

    install iStat http://www.islayer.com/apps/istatmenus/

    add the cpu graph to your status bar.

    if it's looking high, click the icon and it will give you a list of top 5 CPU hogs, among other things.

    The Macbook Pro I bought (and returned) last month got to 100c before the fans ever kicked in.

    90c+ was fairly normal for me in my 2006 MBP during heavy use. You have nothing to worry about.
