Ex-FF minister: Cowen must consider his leadership position

Former Junior Minister John McGuinness has called on Brian Cowen to consider his position as Fianna Fáil leader and Taoiseach.

Speaking to KCLR 96fm Mr McGuinness accused Mr Cowen of "putting his party and tribalism first".

He said Mr Cowen lacked vision, imagination and strategy.

However he refused to say if he supported anyone else for the leadership.

Could we start to see more of 'em voicing their discontent in the coming days?

Meh, it's just more rumbling. Then there'll be the smoke and mirrors and attention diverting until the next crap comes along.

The word "former" before his title may lend a certain bitterness to the chap's rant which sort of muddies the message a little.

    Who else is there though?

    Lenihan? Coughlan? Dermot Ahern?

No-one will make a shred of difference. General election please!

It was an interesting interview, he said the changes to the government wouldn't do anything for small businesses or for the 435,000 unemployed.

He said he knew he wouldn't be getting a minister's job but the reshuffle didn't do anything as it lacked vision.
When it came to who could lead he said these people know who they are and he didn't want to say anything but it is upto them to make the move as he hasn't canvassed anyone about removing Brian Cowen.

John McGuinness says it on how he sees it, during the boom he was saying about the need for public sector reform when it was unpopular with Bertie and co and then the crash came and it was the public sector that needed reform.
He is saying what a lot of the bench backers in the party believe but might be too afraid to be so blunt about it and he is saying what a lot of people think about Brian Cowen as a leader.

Would you have confidence in someone that looks like some sort of hippo/walrus hybrid?

Yay. We'll finally confirm our position as the laughing stock of the universe

Aside from his obvious incompetence, FF have no chance of winning an election with his mug plastered all over the country on 20ft high billboards. Can you imagine it?

He'd put you off your dinner, never mind voting.

    I wouldnt be so sure.

How many retard voters are there in Ireland? Enough to give FF a serious chance of re-election

They aren't voting for FF you see, this is the problem. They are voting for "their fella" who fixed the fence or the potholes or handed out free drink in his pub before the election. Its only by coincidence that the TD in question is with FF, and they wouldn't know FF national policies if you asked them.

    Gotta love that parish pump.

Well he would have been in line for a Ministry if he didn't shoot from the hip before.
