2010 Irish Women's Matchplay Championship

    The 2010 Irish Women's Matchplay Championship will be held on Saturday, May 22nd., at the Silver Springs Moran Hotel, Tivoli, Cork City, in conjunction with the Silver Springs Maytime Festival.
    Two players will qualify on the day to compete in the last 32 of the PDC Unicorn Women's World Championship which will have a prize fund of £30,000 on offer with a first prize of £10,000 for the Champion.
    In addition the final of the World Championship will be shown live on Sky Sports TV before the final of the World Matchplay in Blackpool on July 25th.

    Entry forms for the 2010 Irish Women's Matchplay Championship are now available for downloading from www.dartsinireland.com.

    They will also be available at the Tramore Spring Festival in O'Shea's Hotel over the coming weekend.

    In answer to a query - - - all players entering the Irish Women's World Matchplay Championship {including the two qualifiers} will NOT be obliged to join the PDC.

    Matches in the Irish Women's Matchplay Championship will be the Best of 7 Legs 501 straight start.

    A Strict Dress Code will apply to all players on the day in accordance with PDC rules.

    NO TELEPHONE ENTRIES - - - NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY !

    The closing date for entries is May 19th. - - - one month from today !

    IT SHOULD BE A GREAT EVENT !

    Check-in time is 1.00pm and first matches will be called at 2.00pm.

    A STRICT DRESS CODE will apply to all players.

    And it was a great event with Sharon O'Brien {Kildare} and Denise Cassidy {Fermanagh} winning through to represent Ireland in the PDC Unicorn Women's World Championship.
