I've been playing Gaelic football since I was 9,
    15 now,
Never missed too many training sessions,
    A good player,
can't break through the invisible glass wall to become a great player.
    any help?

OP I've played soccer with some of the fittest people ever, sometimes they just don't have the skill, abilities, positional awareness or tactical astuteness to be great players.

The only advice I can give you aside from training, is video yourself when you play and then review the vid of the match it'll give you feedback on your good and bad points in play, then work on your bad points

How do you know know the wall is made of glass if it's invisible??

Op we can't help you with the skills side of the game.

But what people on this forum can do is advise re: diet and physical training.

Please Post your curent training, diet and goals.

Fully agreed. I'd easily be the fittest on my team but wouldn't be in the top 5 regarding class. That, as helimachoptor rightly noted is a gift from the gods.:P

What you can do though, is recognise your strong points, and better youfself in this regard.

For example; as a full back, i use my work rate, and the fact that i'm a hard tackler to my advantage! Be the best at what you're good at and you'll be respected for it!

This article may help, there's a book on amazon about the same topic.

A lot of people find that after u14. Usually at the age groups below that its the people who have better physical attributes than others than will play well. However once puberty hits and people grow and become bigger stronger and faster, the former superstars become average players.

You say yourself you havent been putting in the work....what do you expect so???
If you dont put in the work, nothing will happen. The great players are great because they put in the work others arent willing to put in.

Bullsh!t to not being able to become a great player.

One of my best friends growing up was a uniquely average footballer, then around 14/15 he decided he was getting serious and pretty much dedicated his life to it. I'd estimate he played at least 2 hours of football/fitness/skill training every day for at least 3-4 years. He was obessive. Would train with his club and college almost daily, would then spend hours just whacking a ball against a wall and working on touch/ball control on his own.

He ended up getting trials in the UK and a scholarship to the US. He may not have made it to an international level, but he pulled himself from mediocre to extremely fcuking good by just busting his a$$ every single day. I don't think I've ever seen anyone work harder.

Devote yourself, only then can you reap the rewards.
