how to back up parallels with virtual machines

    what exactly do i need to copy so that i have a back up of paralells the virtual machine and all the applications i have installed in windows?

    Are you using an image file or your bootcamp partition? If the former, just find the image file Parallels is using and duplicate/copy it to your backup drive. If the latter, use Winclone:

    im not using bootcamp so does that mean im using an image file?

    sorry for maybe asking a stupid question but how do i find the image file?

    Yeah, it's an image so.

    When you set up your virtual machine it would have asked you where to save the image. Documents folder usually. Or look in your virtual machines settings. It should show the file location there.

    It's a while since I used Parallels though.
