Thinking of getting the Heart Rate monitor on Monday!

Has anybody got one already! How do you find it? Is it comfortable/accurate/reliable? how close would it to being as good as a garmin f-50

    So its not better nothing

I'm getting the feeling i'd be better off getting mammy out to check my pulse constantly while out training then getting a lidl watch

I really can't comment (but I probably will anyway :)). I do have a LIDL HRM which I hoped to use as a stop-watch for pacing a marathon, but it was losing about 1.5 minutes every hour. The heart rate monitor (though gimicky) seemed to work fine, thought it only provided a point in time, rather than averages or max values.

But I've no experience of this one. It's cheap. At €21.99 it's gotta be worth a go. It may even be better a better HRM than the Garmin, which can be frustrating at the best of times. I say go for it, and report back!

Oh great, tanx guys. Now I'm worrying about the accuracy of my €20 tesco HRM :(
Anyone any idea how the rest of the stuff in Lidl is, ya know, the runners shorts, t's etc? Is it of the same 'quality' ?

It's all good stuff. I find the socks perfect. They don't last as long as some of the more expensive socks, but at a fraction of the price, you can afford several pairs. I woudn't wear the runners myself (as they are the essential link between you and the ground :)) but the clothes are generally fine.

I didn't have a problem with the HRM, it was the fact that it couldn't keep time that was worrying.

I got some socks a while back in Lidl and they are without question my favourites. I have bought expensive pairs in the past and can honestly say the Lidl ones are much better IMO.

I also bought a pair of the lycra running shorts and again these are one my favourite pairs of running shorts. I got a couple of the t-shirts and while they aren't bad they are a little on the heavy side for my liking but are still great value for money.

I'll be buying up the socks on Monday

+ 1 on the socks, I find them really comfy. invariably I get pair of "1000 mile" or "twin skin" from Santa and while I find them really comfortable they discolour really quickly but the lidl socks look and last well for ages.

I also use to get these as presents but have told santa to stop buying them as they normally lead to blisters when I wear them for some reason.

Mens or womens sizing? Women's small is about a size 8-10, medium is about a size 12, large is about a size 14-16.

    yes

the sock are great but will fly out of the shops so get there early and leave a couple of pairs for me

as for the HRM- go for it, at that price, mine is still working fine 12 months later

Went to Lidl in Tallaght this morning, got a pair of capris and 2 pairs of socks. Very few socks left in a 39-42, even at 9.05am - they didn't have any of the blue ones I wanted!

The blue womens jacket and red mens jacket have removable sleeves, which is useful. I would have bought the girly one if they'd had my size. Sizing appears to have changed slightly for the girls too, small is now a 10-12, medium is 14-16, large is about an 18.

I got a pair of capris (They look like they'll go baggy after a few washes), 2 t-shirts (nice and light) and 2 pairs of socks. This was Lidl in Greystones. Tons of stuff left.

+1. Socks are different to the last pairs I bought (and rave about) in Lidl, but the current ones look pretty good as well. I also bought a pair of the long running shorts, these are slightly different again but look fine especially for €6.49.
