COSMOS has been on the go since 1992 when it was called the Irish Astrofest and first held in conjunction with the Irish Astronomical Society (IAS). In 1995, MAC (TAS) had to take it over as a solo event. In 1998, it was renamed COSMOS. It was originally created to be held each Spring to complement the Autumnal Whirlpool Star Party.

All the information is on the Midlands Astronomy Club's website, already mentioned. Plenty of people come from all across Ireland. It is a completely informal event, caters to all walks of amateur astronomical life and has something for everyone. April 9th to 11th at Annaharvey Equestrian Farm near Tullamore is the place to be.

Any questions or queries feel free to ask here or send an email to tullamoreastronomy@yahoo.co.uk

    Clear Skies,

    Seanie Morris,
    MAC Secretary.

Weather forecast for the weekend is very favourable. COSMOS has a history of having at least one clear night of the two down the years.

Lucky you living so near to such a cool event. I live in South Kerry... too long a drive to the midlands so I can only be there in spirit. Uploaded my new website
www.the-universe.ie just a few weeks ago, and your event is just what I need to get into the swing of things. I am in the early stages of trying to get an astronomy group together for the Autumn ...... any suggestions!!!!!
