OPF Qu about back payments

Ive recently been awarded opf allowance. in the letter i received it stated that i will be paid from sep 2009, but when i went to collect my payment from the post office all i got in arrears was 550 euro or there abouts. has anybody else had the same problem because that doest seem right to me. thanks
