Wife has AA cover on her car which has not been needed as yet, but it is pricey compared to Aviva, want to get the Focus put on some sort of cover, any ideas? Location is North Wicklow.

    Hi Stevie

I also have had AA cover before my current 123.ie car insurance came with breakdown cover included.

One great thing with the AA is that it covers the person and not the car - so basically the person with AA membership has full cover in any car they are travelling in, even as a passenger. I found that very handy to have.

Compare that to the cover with an insurance company. Your cover is just for whatever car you have insured with them and whoever is named on the policy. I had a lot of trouble at the start with them as they hadn't notified the breakdown company of who I was.

If I had to I would certainly go with the AA again even for the extra few euros.

    Pat
