So, after taking time to decide what my biking needs are I've decided that a Hybrid is the way to go for me. However as I have little knowledge of all matters regarding biking I'am in need of a bit of advice as to which brand of bike to go for.

As I cant seem to find anything second hand, I'll probably be buying new from a bike shop, but due to my inexperience, I get the feeling (maybe wrongly), when visiting these bike shops that the salesman is always pushing me towards which ever bike has the greatest mark up.

Can anybody give me some impartial advice as to what brand of bike gives good value for money, I've only about 350 Euros to spend. A lot of places seem to do Giant bikes, there CRS 4 model http://marreybikes.com/shop/giant-crs-40-p-740.html?osCsid=35askot2vs557mis3bdqn951p2, seems to fit my requirements, is it any good?.

    Thanks.

€350 is entry level for a decent hybrid. The Giants are good, yes.
