New wildlife nature programme documenting Irelands wildlife. Is RTE trying to do an Irish planet earth?? will never match that obviously but some great shots on it so far.

Really sh1t narration though, whats-her-name going on like she's all awe-inspired by the spirit of oir-land but sounding really fake and insincere, distracting and annoying. They should have got that guy who dubs a lot of the National Geographic documentaries on RTE2, he's good.

Watched it, was ok but the commentary was the worst I ever heard on a wild life programme all I wanted to do was fall asleep, she has the most boring voice I ever heard, she never got excited about any part of the film and maintained the same low voice. Not sure what her name is, there is nothing new in this programme that we have not seen with David Attenborough.

Sure the BBC or Attenborough could have made it but the point is they didn't. This was every bit as good and made here with Irish people and Irish wildlife. The salmon shots were amazing. We haven't had anything like this on RTE for years, I think it was great and a nice change from always watching English wildlife programmes.

    +1

Matching or surpassing or falling short of the standard of the BBC Wildlife Unit is not the point. The point is, or should be, that this is a good programme about Irish wildlife. I am more interested in humpback whales off the Wexford coast than I am in some tree frog in the jungles of Borneo.

My main gripe with this programme is the commentary its just terrible no change in the voice no matter what is happening, otherwise it was a very good programme and well put together I was not knocking it for any other reason and it is nice to see an Irish Wildlife programme long may it continue.

Does anyone have this on a file to download?

I can't rip it from the RTE website.

Regardless of commentary, it's the animals and journeys that are pretty impressive. Would be really grateful if anyone has this :D
