Running injury?

I've been upping my running mileage lately and I'm starting to get some pain in the tendon in my upper thigh / groin area. I don't know what it's called, but the best way I can describe it is that its clearly the tendon i use to pull my knee up towards my chest. I end up limping for a day or two after a big run.

Normally I'd just google this, but not knowing what it's called makes this difficult!

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Any suggestions as to what to do? Take it easy? Lots of short easy runs?
