Fantastic course,I'm not a member there but have played it numerous times and absolutely love it. Lovely parkland, mature course which requires good course management to play it well...can be very deceiving. Smashing first hole to set you on your way..Enjoy the round, let us know how you got on

would agree with the above, there are a few holes where course knowledge comes in a fair bit,few lads on here are members ,they'll give you more insight
if you hit a long ball a rescue off the first will do as a slightly pushed drive is in trouble
greens are normally top notch,as true as you'll find anywhere, not an overly tough course but personally i always struggled to score well there

I know it fairly well, live near to it.
It's always enjoyable and very well presented. Fairways will be tightly mown... greens tend to be excellent with good undulations. Lacks a little drama - no water for example but it's a fine test.
The 1st is a tough opener with a huge green, probably 40 yards from front to back... drive close to the tree on the left.
2nd is not necessarily a driver off the tee, I prefer to take a rescue off the tee leaving a full shot to a green that is sharply above you. I still haven't played the course enough to know this hole properly :)
3rd is a lovely straight par 4, green is nicely protected by mounding and bunkering.
4th is a short dog-leg left par 4. Drive over the trees leaving a flick if you're brave... more cautious tee shot still only leaves a short iron approach.
5th is driveable with plenty of risk so take a rescue if you want to be safe.
    6th is a nice par 3
7th & 8th are 2 of my favourite par 4's on the course... 7th curves to the left and the 8th to the right.
9th I don't like this par 5. The lay up is difficult for someone who isn't familiar with the course. The hole turns sharply left at the finish and you need to lay up over a crest but you can't over-hit or you're into trees - under hit and you're likely to be blocked out by trees. A driver down the right could make the hole on it two but you'd need to hit a high and long second over trees so it's not really on for mortals. Rescue, 5 iron, wedge is more likely :)
10th Long par 3... fine hole.
11th is index 1 par 4... good hole from the tee.
12th is a good par 5, curves to the right so keep everything to the left side to get a view of the green. Trees front right to eat up anything coming from the right side.
13th is a lovely par 4... the green slopes severely and is wonderfully set into a hollow. Fun.
14th. Straight par 5... reachable in two with a couple of good belts because you can run up the 2nd if you're straight.
15th is a long par 3, difficult (unless you're Paulusmaximus and you ace it having just eagled the 14th in the senior scratch last year).
16th is a strong par 4... good driving hole and the green is well positioned.. shallow and bunkered in front and big trouble behind.
17th is a good par 3, pretty small green, narrow.
18th is a weak finisher. Drive and a flick :(
