So i have an acoustic guitar, a shure 57 mic, a mixer, PA speakers and a Pod XTL. Is there any way i can hook the mic up to the XTL to record the acoustic through the mic and the XTL onto my computer!???

    You could try this...

SM57 > Mixer - Mixer out > Pod XTL > computer with Audacity or Reaper (free and the latter is free/very cheap if you license it)

I dunno how it'll sound though. Does the acoustic have an onboard pickup & preamp?

No pickup on the acoustic! I tried what you suggested before you suggested it and the second i plugged the mixer out into the XTL there was a huge noise and the PA speaker that the other mizer out was going to was buzzing like crazy!

I might try it again only lower volumes next time! Seems like it should work though!

The mixer is basically designed to go from microphone level (low) to line level (high). The Pod is designed to go from instrument level (very low) to line level (high). In order to make this work, you're having to bleed a whole lot of the line level mixer output to ground so that you can amplify it to line level again in the Pod. This has the effect of multiplying your noise and degrading your signal.

The best you can do is to neutralise the mixer as much as possible and reduce gain. Turn the mixer channel gain down completely, flatten the EQ, set the master to unity or 0, and use the channel volume (or aux send volume if you're using an aux) to control the output level. Beyond that, there is nothing you can do.

Unless that Pod has a line in or something to work with.
