    Hi all,

A friend of mine who is also a UPC customer told me recently that he has now become eligible for ESPN & ESPN Classic as part of his subscription, which includes Sky Sports.

I was wondering if anybody here knew of anything about this or whether he has his facts wrong (before I contact UPC)!

    Thanks in advance.

It's **** the way ESPN have only 23 live premier league games next season compared to 46 this season, sky sports have bought the Monday nite games from ESPN and will now have 115 live premier league games next season compared to next season.

    Live Premier League Games
    SkySports: This season: 92
    Next season 92 + 23 = 115

    ESPN: This season: 46
    Next season: 46 - 23 = 23 = pathetic :(

It wasn't ESPN which lost the rights to the Monday games, it was Setanta, which was the main reason they went bust in the UK. ESPN merely picked up the Premier League contract that Setanta had in the UK. I'd be surprised if ESPN don't get at least 2 packs for the 2014 rights.

That means setanta will have more games then for the next few years..

weird ESPN said yes to it.. they should of got in before they went bust and got the full rights..

it's not that wierd and for them it's probably only for 3 seasons during which they'll be starting to show the FA Cup and Premiership Rugby. Throw in the Bundesliga, Serie A and the Europa League and they've still for plenty of quality football.

Espn are are far bigger and richer company than sky.. Id say they are testing the waters regarding the english market and making profit.. When the next contract talks for preimiership football comes up in a couple of years they could blow sky out of the water with a huge offer, something Id like to see happen, Hate sky with a passion, from there smug presenters to there customer service people,

They wont though. ESPN in America will be their number one priority so I wou'dn't be expecting them to blow Sky out of the water until at least the contract renewal after the next one.
