Calling Foxes / Fox Caller

    Well lads,

Have used the traditional back of the hand always but borrowed a caller recently and found it to be a great tool. It was little larger than box of cigs and olive green, no name or brand, just "made in italy" on it. It is the interchangeable chip type also. It would have been purchased when we were still dealing in pounds and pence. Anyone come across this type? Anyone have a broken one/spare chip with rabbit distress on it and willing to part with it?

Im sure this question has been asked on numerous occasions but is there any electronic caller for foxes out there at the moment that is a cut above the rest or one ye would recommend/prefer?

    Thanks lads.

Would you know of any dealers that stock it and maybe a price?

    Thanks

Bought a ucaller in www.sportden.ie last week for 99euro, very good caller and you can download calls from the web http://www.varmintal.com/ahunt.htm#Calling.
You also get a remote for it which works up to 100meters so that should come in handy for Grey's and magpies if i get time.

I'm not sure if they are still available,it runs on a 9v battery, has a volume control on top with an on/off switch and a 8 position selection knob.
The only negative I'd have to say is that the magpie call is a continous loop and when you're hid in cover there's no way of stopping it.The U-caller remote has two grey crow calls on it as well as two magpie calls, fox, vixen, etc. The remote is useful as you can pause it or change call without leaving your hide/cover.

    Thanks Invincible,

That sounds like the one allright.

Would you reccommend Ucaller? Or are they all much of a muchness? Remote sounds like a useful tool also

Having used both,I'd go for the U-caller remote, more variety to the magpie call for one thing, the birdsong only has the black crow,it's handy to hang the U-caller on a tree and have the remote with you in your hide.
