    Hi all

Am planning a trip (me + o/h) to Slovenia at the end of June, probably a fortnight or around that.

Initially I'm thinking 3 stops, Ljubljana, Lake Bled, and Maribor (sposed to be near a wine region?). Just going to hire a car the whole trip and see where it takes us.

What are the must see's, how long would people reckon we should stay in each (or avoid staying in?!) etc etc? And any hot tips on nice places to eat would be great.

    Cheers

we did this in 2008 and had a great time. We loved Piran 2-3 days would be great it has a nice town square lovely walks and places to eat and is on the water. Pontroz is more or less joined on to it but Piran would be quaint to stay in where Pontroz has a better beach to more of a beach stip type of place. We also did the Scorjkan caves on a day trip from Piran and these are not to be missed. We spent 2 nights in Ljublana which was great and lively and not very big so dont stay longer than 2 nights and you could do it in 2 days with 1 night stay. We went to Bled and this was the highlight for us we spent 4 days and could have stayed longer. We went on day trips to Bonjhi from Bled which is another lake near by and as we were into walking and cycling we had lots of hikes and cycles. We did not make it to Marbior but we are going to return again to cover other ground

Leave a few days for lake bled and the region, bring your hiking boots, some beautiful walks. Hire mountain bikes and head up to the vintar river (spelling?).
