    Hi,

I am planning on heading away for a month in December with my wife to be.

The plan so far is to fly to Tokyo for 3 days, then onto New Zealand for 14 days, then to the Cook Islands for a week, then LA for a few hour stop over and onto NYC for 3 or 4 days then home to Dublin.

I have been up to trailfinders and the flights are working out at €2000 for each of us, which is pretty good I think. However the accommodation is working out at another €4000 (this does not include the 14 days in NZ). The week in the Cook Islands seems to the kicker, very expensive.

So I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to go that will be hot and has a beach for a week either after Tokyo or after New Zealand. It needs to be nice but not break the bank.

So far this morning I have looked at Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Tahiti but I presume these will be similar prices to The cook Islands.

We were in Malaysia 2 years ago and don’t want to go to Thailand.

    Any help appreciated,

    Thanks....

There are tons of islands in Indonesia where accommodation should be buttons.

Tahiti will break the bank too. Why not Hawaii instead? You'll probably have to fly into Oahu but if you want some peace & quiet in lovely beach / garden surroundings head to Kauai. info on www.alohaholidays.ie/abouthawaii/island_kauai.html

You can get really good accom in Fiji and it is cheaper than Rarotonga and Tahiti etc. Ask your agent about a Qantas/BA ticket to get it all in with Fiji. Also what about Sanya? Bit different from the usual.
