Cleaning up my flash drive.

    Hey all,

As part of my project I had to get some data off a computer in the lab, however the damn thing seemed to be infected. When I stuck the usb drive into my laptop, it immediately told me there was a trojan and dealt with it. I've run virus scans and everything to be sure and I don't have any problems. Well except that I can't open the usb drive through "My Computer" (when I right-click it it has "xxx" autorun and weird things like that). I can perform a search and get what I need and I can send files to it. While this is grand for the moment, I have to give a presentation later and I'm iffy about using this particular usb drive in case it craps all over the PC thats provided.

Is it possible to clean it up and repair its normal functions? I've tried scanning the usb drive directly but it comes up clean. I'm just not so sure it really is. Plus I'd rather not having to go buy a new one.

    Cheers If anyone can help!

Oh and I'm using AVG 8.5 (not the free version)

It probably blocked the trojan for that PC and next might do the same. Perhaps best bet is to copy what you need from usb and then go to manufacturer site and download their format program if they have one. I use panasonic for most of my cards.
