We're having our first major issue with a 159 at the moment. 2007 1.9JTDm with about 70,000km on the clock.

Was making horrible noises when it came in and apparently the power steering fluid had started to go down so the driver took the cap off and it was bubbling away. Filled the reservoir again and it was OK for about 20 mins, then started to make horrible noises again.

Sent it to our local independant who thought it was the power steering pump. Ordered up a new pump and fitted, but still having the same issue. Sent it off to South Dublin Alfa who thought it might be the steering rack so took that out (big job I believe). Turns out the steering rack was OK and the replacement power steering pump was also faulty:rolleyes:

Working pump was going in yesterday afternoon or this morning, so should have it back later (and I can get my demo Passat back after 3 weeks!).

All costs covered under warranty by Alfa :), and this is the first major issue with a 159, so it seems the newer ones are much more reliable than the old.
