Dilema with potential jobs

I have a small Dilema, and I dont know what to do.

I am working at company A and I have went for an internal job interview for a higher position. I passed the first round stages and I am awaiting confirmation of a second interview. I will be having a second interview as I have been told this, but the question still remains when it will occur. I have a good chance as any in getting the position and I know the work involved, and I would really like to get it.

Meanwhile I have been for a first and second round interview with another company for a different position to that of Companys A's, but the position is still higher than my current position.

My situation is that I have been offered company B's position, but I would really like to stay in company A and continue to work there. I have a two week window in which I am to start at company B, and I am still waiting for company A to begin the second interview.

What should I do, as each company do not know about the current situation. How should I approach this.

Informal chat with someone in your company about your chances of getting the 2nd interview quickish. Don't say you have another job lined up, but do imply that you have been made an offer maybe?

You have to play it cool, as you'll be out on your ear from both jobs if you do it wrongly: remember, until you get the contract signed, you don't have the other job.
