I'm looking to go to Lake Bled, In Slovenia but the only flights I can find from dublin are 1,000 euro return!

Anyone know of a cheaper way to get there? (aside from flying to venice and a 4 hour drive)

    Thanks

You might try flying to the UK and flying to Pula or Triest from there.

You could fly to Trieste rather than Venice, the drive would be slightly less. Ryanair have cut their flights out of Dublin though, so it would mean Ireland-London-Trieste, which essentially isn't much use. If you choose to go through the UK, better than to get a flight into Ljubljana, and save the 4 hour drive.

I flew to Ljubljana with Adria direct from Dublin for a fairly cheap price in Sept a couple of years ago but that could be the expensive option you listed in your OP.

Your could also try flying to either Graz or Klagenfurt in Austria and jumping on a train into Slovenia or even fly into Croatia. Slovenia is one small place so you are never really more than 2 hours from a neighbouring country.

    Good luck in your search!

I am going to Lake Bled in the summer to. Getting Aer Lingus to Venice and spending 2 nights there, then a bus to Ljubljana to spend 2 nights there, then up to lake Bled for 3 nights and then flying back with Easyjet to Stanstead. In your case Id get na cheap Ryanair flight to Stanstead and then Easyjet all the way to Ljubljana. Ljubljana airport is nearly halfway between Ljubljana and lake Bled. The flights are quite cheap and should be less that €100 one way
