Go talk to your dr, there are medicla reasons why this could be happening, so go get checked out and then try what they tell you.

What worked for me was sleeping on my side versus sleeping on my back. My gf kept poking my nose when I was asleep until I turned on my side, and she kept it up until I just learnt to sleep that way :D

The worst thing about snoring is that not only does it disturb your partner but also you do not get a good nights sleep or shall I say a deep enough sleep, so you can get through the day without feeling tired or fatigued.

You do need to see a doctor as a lot of over the counter remedies do not work. I know as my ex snored his head off each night, we got some over the counter stuff and it didn't work. Perhaps also you may need to lose a little weight, go to the gym and give yourself a work out. But make sure you see a doctor so you can get yourself sorted.

    Good luck

I'd say go to your doctor and see if there is anything they can suggest. There are loads of over the counter remedies and I have heard mixed reviews about them but its best to check there is not an underlying reason with the doctor first

I too suffer from this, or at least my OH suffers...

    1. Go to the doc immediately and let them know the full extent of the impact. As a prev poster said there are many reasons but you really do need medical advice.
    2. Over the counter stuff - nothing has worked for me.
    3. Sleeping on my side - helps - but I am woken nightly 2 or 3 times by my OH telling me to roll or being prodded to roll - leads to restless nights for both of us.
    4. Exercise/Weight - big contributor - but again seek medical advice here...

    Best of luck.

Thanks guys, i am least 2 to 3 stone overweight so will go on a massive diet, ive trouble breathing through my nose! I know these are obviously the reasons why its happening so ill just go on a diet and lie on my side, i heard propping your head up with pillows helps too!

    Thanks again!

    Hi Op.

Personally diets don't work for me - weight just goes like a yo-yo.
I have though tried to make some changes
    1. no more fizzy drinks.
    2. no more jellies / chocolates / biscuits.
    >> now I do have a treat once a month maybe
    3. no more take-aways - this was the hardest; since feb now I have only had 1. Was having 3 or so a week at least.
    4. Drink more water.

I also now go jogging 2 or 3 times a week.

For me - this lifestyle change is having an effect. Have dropped 1 stone, over a 4mth period and continue to lose weight towards my target weight as advised by the doctor. Nothing drastic - it is all changing slowly. So I don't notice it too much - but my OH and colleagues have all commented on it.

So - get thee to a doctor :) maybe even ask about a full health checkup - and if weight is the cause - then see about changing how you live - diets are great short term - but never worked for me - and other guys I know who followed them - yrs later just went heavier...

You might be lucky though :)

Snoreeze nose strips - available in Chemists.
Its a snore strip that helps your nostrils stay open, thus reducung the noise.

    Works for me !
