    Hypothetical situation:

Lets say a person will shall call client A engages a solicitor for a task. During the course of the task the solicitor learns certain facts not in the public domain about client A. Business is concluded and they go their separate ways.

Sometime later a second person lets call him client B engages the same solicitor to sue client A. Can the solicitor use what they have learned about client A to further client B's case? Can the solicitor tell client B any of this information.

No, but once the solicitors learn the information by other (non privileged) means, they could use it.
