Is an AV Sender the way forward?

    Hi.

I'm trying to set it up so I can watch my UPC subscribed channels on a tele upstairs. I'd also like to be able to change the channel upstairs (it doesn't matter that the channel will change upstairs and downstairs at the same time).

Can someone advise me as to what am should look for on the box of an AV Sender to be sure a) that it will work with my UPC box, and b) that I can change UPC channels from upstairs? The UPC box I'm using is branded as a UPC Media Box and is about the size of your average DVD recorder.

I'd be happy to provide further information on request.

    Regards,

    Emlyn.

You could just get ntl multi room? Its a fiver a month extra if i remember correctly.

So you would have a new box in the bedroom, and then different channels could be watched on both tv at the same time

I use a video sender with the silver mediabox. It works fine.

    Thanks for the replies.

I would prefer to go the way of a sender though. I will be moving from room to room now and again and may not be with UPC in a couple of months. So the flexibility of the sender suits.

Still not clear though on whether the modern mediabox uses irda or just ir. Does it matter? Also, is there anything else I need to check before buying to know that I'll be able to change channels on the mediabox using the sender?

    Thanks.

    Emlyn.
