    I have a Dell Laptop.

When a burn a DVD of videos from a camcorder - they work fine as a DVD on a computer. But when I play them as a DVD in a regular DVD player it doesnt work.

Anyone know why this is or how to fix it. I want to be able to use the DVD films I burn on a regular DVD and TV.

You regular DVD player must not support DVD +/-R, is it an old DVD player?

    Thank for the reply

    I used a Verbatim DVD+R disc.

I tried to play them in my PS3 which worked the odd time, but seems to have problems loading them and would play at wrong speed etc and not play at all other times.

The other player I tried is a standard LG DVD player, wouldnt be that old - about 4 years old.

Should I be using a diferent type of disc?

some older DVD players will not play burned DVD's at all. Look up the model on the net and see does it support DVD+/-R

Are you burning the video files straight to disk as is, or converting them to DVD format?

ConvertXtoDVD should do the trick without severe damage to the wallet.

I am using the software I got with my camcorered to convert to DVD format -

And then buring them to my disc - x8 is the disc burning speed on the laptop.
Could it be that this is too fast?

They work great on computers but not on a DVD player

Is there an option in the burning program to set the booktype to DVD-ROM ?
