Canon 450D Problem

I bought a Canon 450D a few months ago but only got around to using it properly last night. It took photos fine and there were no problems until this morning.

I tried powering on the camera but the display did not come on. I though fair enough, I had left it in the on position over night and assumed that I just needed to recharge it.

I tried turning it on again with the freshly charged battery however, the display once again did not come on. It takes pictures fine and the viewfinder is working but I cannot get the display up. I've tried the display and menu buttons but no luck.

Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong and how to fix it? Or is it faulty and does it need to be sent back? I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help. Thanks.

    :o

It was a silly mistake where I had the video out cable plugged in but forgot about it. I assumed the display would still work. In my haste and panic I googled the problem and saw results that said the camera was borked so I said I'd ask here to be sure.

    Sorry about that :o
