Hairline Fracture in ankle .... maintaining running fitness

    Hola all,

So as a result of running the Barcelona Marathon with flat feet and no support I've was told last night that I've with a hairline fracture in my right ankle, and have been advised not to run for another 4 weeks.

Given that I've built up a good level of fitness over the past months what would be the best form of non impact exercise to maintain myself at my current rate of fitness? Is swimming better than a cross trainer? As a cross trainer has a somewhat similar motion to running than a bike or swimming is it better to cross train?

    What do people reckon?

    Cheers

All depends what you enjoy the most. I like to use the cross trainer to maintain fitness when injured/coming back from injury. No harm in combining all three to stop yourself going mental.
