Recently, I've been very keen on getting the iPhone as vodafone are releasing it soon.

Would I be better off waiting for the 4G release, or just buy one now? will it be worth the wait do you reckon

    cheers,

    Kevin

Would definitely wait. Might be July till the 4G comes out (if it even does!) but you'll hear about it before then from Apple.

If you're going to lock yourself into an 18 month contract it might as well be with a phone that won't be outdated in a few months.

    My 2 cents. :)

i'm with dades on this, you'd be plain stupid to buy an iPhone right now. New one will be announced by June maybe even on sale by then if not July.

2 more months is little time considering you'll be forced into an 18 month contract.

    mm, fair point.

It's a huge temptation but i'll wait it out :)

    thanks

If I was the OP I'd get a an iPhone now if you need (want) one now. Yes, you could wait for the 4th gen iPhone, that might be announced by Apple soon and be released over here around June / July. But then when thats launched, you sign up for your 18 month contract and next year when the 5th gen is out, you still got at least 6 months left on your contract and the "urge" to get another phone. If you want a phone now, get it now, if you dont need it now, then wait. With technology there's always something better coming down the line to be honest. My 2 cents.

After 12 months in your contract (with O2 at least) you'll get a silver upgrade option which allows you to upgrade phone (and sign a new contract) for the same price as someone signing up for the first time. So you're not limiting yourself at all - in fact you're better off being in sync with yearly releases.
