Hi, am trying for the impossible here, mother bought a male long haired shepherd pup 4yrs ago from a chap in finglas, didnt bother getting the papers for him, he is microchipped, due to ill health, we have now inherited him, and he is a beauty, would love to have him registered. but mother has lost breeders number, and cant remember his name. all we have to go on, is he was from finglas, and delivered dog to her in clondalkin. ......am hoping someone will know a breeder in finglas area, if we have to go round them all, dunno if we can get replacement papers for him, but would like to try. cheers to all, for any help

The breeder has to register the pups/litter around the time of birth, so if you rang the IKC they might have a registered litter if you have DOB etc.
But it's probably unlikely as if the papers weren't given with the pup, then it may not have been registered.

Sounds a bit dodgy that the breeder delivered the dog to your mum in the first place, unless she had visited the pup at the breeders home origionally.

Is the dog microchipped, if so you might still be able to get breeders detail that's if the breeder bothered to microchip.

Unless you plan to start showing him professionally (if he is a good example of his breed with hip scores etc.) you don't really need the papers.
There are lots of fun dog shows on throughout the year that he could enter in to.
