Have Cork, Tipp or Kilkenny ever had managers from outside their own counties?

I know KK minors had a Waterford/Abbeyside man (Nicky Cashin) over them but the seniors?

I don't believe so, selectors certainly but the main man has always been a local from what I can remember...

I cant imagine the main senior hurling teams of the big 3 will ever have a man from another county in charge as in manager but i could be wrong. As terrific as Cody is, I couldn't ever see the tipp co board ever considering him for the managers role, that should the unlikely happen and Mr Sheedy decide to hang up his managing jacket with us. Likewise I don't think KK will get sheedy to be the successor to Cody despite him too being a great manager. They both have enough in the pool as far as each county board is respectively concerned.

Alot of players crossed the divides to play for their rivals as well as former players coaching clubs in other counties. Matt Ruth and Denis Byrne being two such examples. John Leahy is currently in charge of Windgap, Brendan Fennelly (i think it was brendan) has managed clubs in Tipperary, incl a great mullinahone team in the late 90's

Back in 2005 Dublin football board flirted with the idea of getting Mick O'Dwyer, the man who masterminded their great rivals of Kerry's success in the 70's. and id imagine up to that point Dublin would be a county who wouldn't fish out of their own waters so to speak, so maybe things will change but i doubt it
