"I have undergone almost two months of inpatient therapy and I am continuing my treatment

He must be mad for a bit of action ;)
Just 25 days after the world number one said he might not play this year, he has decided he will be ready to play again at Augusta.

"The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta.

"The major championships have always been a special focus in my career and, as a professional, I think Augusta is where I need to be, even though it's been a while since I last played.

"I have undergone almost two months of inpatient therapy and I am continuing my treatment. Although I'm returning to competition, I still have a lot of work to do in my personal life.

"When I finally got into a position to think about competitive golf again, it became apparent to me that the Masters would be the earliest I could play. I called both Joe Lewis and Arnold Palmer and expressed my regrets for not attending the Tavistock Cup and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. I again want to thank them both for their support and their understanding. Those are fantastic tournaments and I look forward to competing in them again.

"I would also like to thank the Augusta National members and staff for their support. I have deep appreciation for everything that they do to create a wonderful event for the benefit of the game."

Great golfer, but he really is full of ****.

What exactly is he in ''therapy'' for?

Yep must admit it's a bit of a joke alright. Therapy for sex addiction don't make me laugh.

    Tiger realy is a PLAYER . :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,431 ✭✭✭dvemail

Dont know why he thought going into therapy for sex addiction would help his case. He has got to get himself a new management team around him, because they arent exactly handling the situation well imo.

He's got Ari Fleisher on board now, the man who bulls***ed the world about WMD's amongst other things, on George Bush's behalf.I'd say he's in good hands.Playing this soon does show his press conference up for the load of rubbish I thought it was at the time.

'I do hope to return to Golf someday'.

    Please.Self serving, egotistical tw*t.

That said, looking forward to watching him play some Golf :D

This. Said in the most over rehearsed way as well. Seriously, if he had just shut the f*ck up and got on with the golf he might not have come off looking like such a fool and his fellow pros might still have some respect for him!

i agree , but for all the wrong reasons, people should be watching because its one of the greatest golfing specticals of the year, not to see that self serving ,whiney ,fake ,cheater.
personally i cant stand him now.
i hope he makes a balls of his comeback, the fake p...k
    "feel so much better now":D

Think he needs to curb that behaviour for a while tbh.

Broadcasting it in 3D is a bit ponderous considering that about 0.001% of the population in the States has 3D-compatible Tv's.

What exactly is he in ''therapy'' for?

He's in therapy cos he got caught.

A recent interview with a sex addiction therapist saw her admitting that, on reflection, no she had never had a man attend a sex addiction clinic BEFORE he got caught!!

Lads, in fairness, i couldnt give a flying f**k what Tiger does off the course- that is his business.

What I do care about is him acting like an ignorant twat on the course. Treating spectators and his fellow players with disrespect (walking to the next tee box whilst YE Yang had not putted out last year springs to mind).

I hope he learns to address this, then i can enjoy his talent abit more.

Just heard some golf commentator on the radio saying that he will get a great welcome back at Augusta because the fans there are known as patrons not spectators because they dont sell too much beer on the course!!!

So if you can buy beer you are a spectator if you cant you are a patron. New one on me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,361 ✭✭✭f22

Will be very interesting to see how he treats the public, will it stll be head down or will he perhaps engage with them a little?

Even more interesting to me will be how Steve Williams reacts to the obvious jibes that will be voiced at him in the coming months. Personally he would have gone with the whole managment team.

Typical Golf snobbery.A lot of those in the game think if you enjoy a drink at all while attending a tourney, you must automatically be one of those idiots that shout 'get in the hole!' on every drive.Nothing wrong with having a drink or two while you're enjoying the golf, but they wouldn't like 'that type' of golf fan at Augusta, don't you know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,550 ✭✭✭Myksyk

I think if you're having a bad round you should be allowed to savagely batter with impunity anyone who shouts 'get in the hole' when you hit your drive on a par five.

    +1
Especially if it's at Augusta and they have had a drink.

Surprised to see him back for the Masters ,I thought he would leave it until the US Open in June .
Jack Nicklaus called it weeks ago.Cute old Jack.:D
It was always going to be difficult for Tiger to pass up playing 3 majors in a row at his favourite 3 courses,Augusta,Pebble Beach and St Andrews.
His insatiable appetite to surpass Jacks 18 majors was always going to mean Tiger would be back sooner rather than later.
Should be an interesting summer golf wise, pity Tiger didnt put his odious caddie Steve Williams in the closet along with his other misdemeanors.

Yeah what did you want Steve Williams to do ? He's not his keeper. His job is to carry his bag.

    What did he do?
Besides the fact he called Phil Mickelson a prick ,he is an arrogant, ignorant and generally unlikeable person.

I can understand Woods to an extent given the attention he gets. Williams struck me as a jumped up little twat refusing however.

why would you want his autograph?
sorry just cant figure that out, so said i'd ask...

Great tournament for Tiger to return to...the commentators are so limited in what they can discuss (Gary McCord for example) that anything remotely nea Tiger's personal life will be off limits....just like nothing happened. Also the fact that coverage is so limited for the first few days will help Tiger settle in.

He is the caddy for the worlds number one and the greatest player ever to play the game. I would like his autograph and asked him accordingly.

Giving an autograph when requested is a courtesy and he is entilted to refuse if he so wishes or completely ignore the person who asked.
You can put whatever spin you like on it, but I'm 99% sure that most people would not be in the least bit offended and wouldn't react negatively like you did.

He obviously didn't like the cut of your gib and was proved right on this occasion when you react like you did in the post below.

I say fair play to Williams for sizing you up within seconds.

Why the hell would you want a caddy's autograph?! If you saw the woman who dry cleans his pants would you stick a pen under her nose?

I'm reminded here of the people who applaud when the pilot lands the plane when you go on holiday.

Each to their own i suppose.

The woman who dry cleans his pants isnt the most famous, highest paid pants drier in the world. She also doesn't travel with him.
