    any one had one recently ? got word today i am having one in 4 weeks time , any tips:eek::(:(:confused:

    It's a bit like santie clause if you were good then you have noting to worry about and if you were bad your name might be on the list.

    I've been audited twice now with no issues

    Just wondering how many years do they go back over and how many years are you supposed to keep records for I must clean out fileing cabnet some rainy day .

    they are doing me on 2008 ... i think they can go back 5 years

    As far as I know they can audit you from when started your business, you will need to show your income v your expenditure your VAT invoices etc. Do you do self assessed or have you an accountant, mine is simple enough cattle sales, Reps and payments v plastic, netting, machinery, fuel, PRSI and PAYE etc etc.

    I have seen a lot of lads trying to pull the wool over these boys’ eyes and you just won’t get away with it.

    As far as I know you're supposed to keep all your tax records for 7 years. So the accountant keeps telling me anyway!

    we got a bill for prsi for un taxable income in 2007 , looks like they are really searching the archives

    well it was ok , she only spoke to me for 20 minutes and then said i could go:D so she was with the accountant after that... only had one point and we explained that to her and she is to get back to us later on today but doesnt see a problem so hopefully all is ok

    found out today that fbd cover you for up to 40,000 in a revenue audit:eek: wish i knew that before now:mad: they will pay accountants fees in that too
