    TVRage.com summary:
Jack and Cole move to rescue Kayla Hassan and secure Tarin Forush. Meanwhile, Prady continues to ask Dana probing questions, and Omar Hassan must decide whether to give up vital secrets to recover his daughter.

Yay! More Dana... I just wish Prady is some redneck serial killer and cuts her to pieces when they meet up but that's not very likely :(...

Hopefully the Dana crap won't take up too much of the episode and we can get more classic Bauerisms in the rest of the episode. It's mid-season now, usually things get twisted around quite significantly at this point so I'm hoping for something good. It still doesn't feel like the season has really started moving along...

    All good.
Best episode of the series so far imo.

The storyline with Taryn was quality. Thought he was another Romeo going weak at the tears of a little hottie and didn't see the turn around coming at all.

Easily the best episode so far. Pretty much all action from start to finish. Even the Dana crap wasn't all that bad.
I'm surprised both Tarin and Kayla made it to the end of the episode alive and they even cleared up that plothole of Tarin being in the President's car when it was due to be blown up.

Superb episode ruined again by the Dana bull****. How is that guy able to walk in and take her away from her post for a chat? All the warehouse video I am assuming is now ruined. God's sake.

    Cracking episode.

The Tarin-Kayla twist and getting the car in to CTU HQ reminded me a bit of the film Arlington Road.
By the same token, I don't understand how that probation guy - or Kevin and his pal earlier - got anywhere near the CTU building nevermind be allowed stay inside.

    I'll miss 24 if/when it ends. :(

First 5/5 episode. About f**king time.

Yep, finally a solid episode from start to finish. Nice twist with Tarin, I'm happy he didn't have a change of heart but that it was all part of the plan to start with.

The footage of the warehouse robbery would now be destroyed or at least unavailable for quite some time - so this should be the end of all the Dana crap?

Quality ending, though "they've taken out CTU" is one of the old 24 chestnuts... Still, nice twist with an EMP rather than a standard bomb...

How was it cleared up? If the assassin succeeded with the car bomb then no Tarin to trick the girl and emp CTU.
Also those were pretty powerful pistol bullets Tarin had in the hotel; one shot body armour wearing SWAT team members.

Taking out CTU happens when they run out of ideas for the story as evidenced by the Dana bull****. :D

    Very good episode.

    Aye very good.

Also didn't see the Tarin twist coming. For a minute I thought maybe the daughter was in on it but only for a minute.

Yeah like others have said. Really classic 24 episode. Tension, twists, actions and blowing up CTU.
It shows they can still do classic 24 still but ultimately it's all been done before.

It was cleared up in the sense that they acknowledged that he was prepared to die to ensure the success of the assassination attempt. And if the assassination plot succeeded then they wouldn't need the back up plan.
Still though pointing out plot holes in 24 is a bit like pointing them out in Prison Break. If they stuck with trying to make it half-way plausible then there would lose half the dramatics. So it's best to just roll with it.
Tbh I was surprised they made any attempt to address that discrepancy.

I still fail to see how that cleared anything up. How did they acknowledge he was prepared to die? Tarin could've just shot him after the bomb went off but he didn't. He also could've used his closeness to the president to kill him whenever he wanted.

Let's say the assassination succeeded, but the assassin was still shot and the radiation detected on his body, then they still need the back up plan.

You can avoid plot-holes and still have a plausible story quite easily.

Season 2 was a regular bomb, season 5 the chemical attack and the time the baddies assaulted CTU to get jacks nephew was Season 6. I think.

Pretty good episode but the biggest plot hole for me was the timer on the EMP. When was it started???? And by who.

    Great episode.
Biggest plot hole by far was that the terrors could get their hands on a non-nuclear emp (very rare, if not, non-existant) and not be able to get their hands on nuclear enriched rods. The latter is far far easier.
Second biggest was that CTU would let a car inside their tunnel without a security check until its at the point where even a minor device would cause damage.

That's the thing that grates most for me: the ease with which unauthorised people/vehicles can get close to, or even into, CTU.

Still, I love this stuff, roll on next week! :D

Meh. How can Jack be so sharp to tell that Taryn was impersonating a SWAT officer based purely on his exit route, but not be able to consider Kayla's mysterious escape from terrorists suspicious? At the very least he should have suspected that she was under duress. 'Naaaah, let this bird who has somehow escaped from terrorists drive straight into CT HQ.'

Although having an EMP in the back of the car was just as silly. Obviously the writers need some of the characters who were in the area otherwise it would have been a more believable home-made explosive. That was up there with the bomb-vest override that gives a minute count-down so that Jack can get a name and escape.

What bugs me about that one is that normally Jack plays along and leads the impersonator into a trap. This time he just told the impersonator over the comms that he knew he was impersonating. Ahh classic 24 inconsistent as ever, but what an episode.

It was a very good episode. Ending was excellent and the twist with Taran was good too. Laughed out loud when the security guard jumped into the rigged car and shouted "I'll move it" and just sat there

Can't give it a 5/5 though, the Dana story is beyond ridiculous at this stage. Talk about filler. As said earleir why is the guy from king of the hill just allowed interrogate her like that in the middle of such a crisis. He has no business interrogating her, probation officers are just supposed to be supervise recently released prisoners.

Given that it's 24 we're talking about here, I suspect that this guy is much more than a probation officer.
That said, it's still goofy that he was allowed into the facility to interrogate a high-ranking operative.

Not to mention that Dana has a job in one of the highest security (:pac:) government institutions and her co-workers don't know her old identity.

There'd surely be a background check for that kinda job.

But it was a great episode, definitely the best so far. Nice to have something unexpected.

I do think 24 should be cancelled but the last 2 episodes have be great fun. I am really enjoying this season. Perhaps I am wrong in suggesting that if it ends now it goes out on a high????

Dana gets away with her murder for the moment, lucky her. I guess????

Finally! This season has taken off!
    Best ep. by far!
Thought the Dana story was gonna ruin it (again, rellay starting to do my nut in..) But liked where it ended up!

    Roll on next week!
