Washing machine loud and vibrates when full, quiet when empty

    Hi, wonder can anyone advise......
Have a Bosch washing machine, about 2/3 years old, its started to make a bit of noise when spinning and when it starts spinning it thumps and twists the rubber around the door. seems to be load/weight related but needs to be practically empty to not do it. Have checked and it's level.

Any advice appreciated, would be willing to pay fee to fix if required......

It can be a couple of things. but usually something like this is either

1, Overloading. you should have enough room at the top to get 4 tennis balls in. That should give you an idea.

    2. The bearings have gone which case the drum is off centre. Usually happens from over filling.

    Cheers for reply.
Its not overloaded, only halfway up drum, put something in that soaks up the water and its more noticeable.
Drum looks dead centre when you look in the door.

    ignore this

if it doesnt sound loud when empty but thumps when on full load it sounds like one of the suspension legs has snapped -not a big job fairly common

if the bearings were gone you can hear it even by spinning it by hand and shouldnt thump

Is this a DIY job or any idea how much it would cost to fix?

I agree that this is the most likely fault. One particular bosch model has a problem with the front weight coming loose, could be that.neither is a diy job if you are not familiar with taking the machine apart
