looks a bit like the insignia? (very nice also)

    I agree - Very nice..

With styling like that, as well as 7 year warranties, it might make main stream manufacturers sit up and take note ......

    Or maybe not

Am I seeing the same pics as the first few posters

They look manky to me. All they did was square all the round bits of the old models.

...well now we know what has been holding KIA back: the designer.

But, since the fired him, and got the new guy in, he's come up with the above - well done, I say.

Now, the problem is, Jo Kong - the guy that got fired, btw - recently did a stint under Bangle, and just got hired at Unterturkheim. They think he's Zuper
, Ja !, and so, ta-da........I give you the new Magentis that didn't get off the drawing board......, E-Class.....

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

That E-class is a hideous looking yoke, I saw one in the flesh the other day and it's even worse in real life, it's backwards Mercedes are going, i'd have a Kia anyday.

Its funny. Jap cars used get the old 'tut tut that bloody japanese rubbish' bullsh!t years ago & now the likes of Kia & Hyundai are getting the same sort of reaction.

I must be the only one who thinks the new E class is a great looking car.. it looks much better in the flesh than in the pictures.

They appear to be built like the Mercs of old too(the current C class has been excellent so far, a massive improvement on the previous one) which will make them a great car for the long run and a much better buy than a 5 series or an A6, just the way a proper Merc should be, I long for the days when Mercs were as well built as a W124; the diesels could do 500,000 miles, even the petrols were "only" capable of 300,000 miles.

Maybe they are but most of the Mercedes range from the 2000's were terribly troublesome cars with unbelievable problems and awful reliability issues so they could only get better, on principle I would never buy a Mercedes or a Toyota now for the reason that they took our money and cut quality, there's no excuse, they simply thought they could fool people for more profits and get away with it.

I know its silly, it shouldnt but it does. Its not just a Korean thing though. Lots of people on here wouldnt buy a French car, an Italian car or a jap car. Or how bout this. Ask yorself would you buy a Chinese or Indian car?

No as they are still crap, the Koreans though are real contenders now and will be invincible in a generation or two.

If they had a reputation for building good cars, yeah. I haven't heard anything bad about Korean car's build wise. Though I own a Kia so there is bias involved!

Don't some of the chinese and indian makes have terrible safety records, or is that just for the 'copies' they make?

Are those go-faster holes on the side of the Magentis, like the BMW M3? Bleedin' rappah man.

I usually buy on the merits of the particular car...so no Chinese junk...how dare you criticise a country that gave us the lovely City Rover. You Baxtard:p

They built the Hyundai Accent! It'll take a long time to live that down.

IMO Korean cars are still just not there yet. They are usualy covered in hard plastics, roar from tyre noise, have laughable interior designs and they are just on par with Euro models when they are launched so date very quickly. Also these days they aint any cheaper than mainstream Euro / Jappo equivalents nor any more reliable so there's not much reason left to buy one.

    But things can change:

    Like this....

to this in 10 years ....

Lots of people on here wouldn't buy a saab. They recently just about escaped the fate of Rover thanks to Spyker. Not good.

Okay just for the record YET AGAIN , I dont sell Saabs ;).

And I dont know why people take these things so personal. I couldnt care less what you like and dont like. I like what I like and you can like what you like. :)
