Power Steering Fluid Change?

Just wondering if I should change the Power Steering Fluid in an 05 Corolla Verso. 80k miles on clock. It looks a bit on the dark side to me and when parking the car the other day heard a bit of screeching in the steering just before full lock also wheel got heavy. Its fine once the car is moving...

(tell me its not the pump)

its not uncommon - pump has to work harder under full load ( lock ) and the p/s belt might slip a bit. Just make sure you have enough P/S fluid in the reservoir. Realistically, its not that often that you will be in a full lock position so this issue tends to go unnoticed. No reason to be worried, I feel ;)

I'd be more inclined to suspect the belt - it may be loosing grip and slipping under load. PAS fluid doesn't usually have a replacement interval. Once it's topped up (no leaks) and the PAS pump is OK then you should be grand.
