Have a few old gates lying about ,

They are around 8 foot wide,

They are in good nic, no holes or anything. There's a good weight of steel/iron in them..

Anybody know how much they are worth roughly? or are they for scrap?

    Cheers

Are they forge / Blacksmith made gates or are they factory made tubular ones? ie. Solid iron or tubular steel?

They are hollow iron or steel, weigh i'd say between 50 -60 kgs each..

    Old style..

Scrap I'd imagine, although if they're 50-60 kilos each they're made of far better stuff than what you'd get today so you might find some buyer for em.

Price what new gates in the same size would cost and offer em for half that.
A donedeal ad only costs €3, just please put a price and proper on it. nothing more annoying than lads with no details on ads.

Thanks for the advice about done deal. Stuck them up for €200 and had 6 people ring within the hour. Lad coming to get them this week.

Thanks for the PM offers and interest too. :)

Out of interest, what kind of prices do wrought iron gates fetch? I mean the old ones you see from old estates and the like.

saw a few at auction in the boom years go for 600e, they had been repaired and sandblasted ready to paint, the 6-7 ft high ones but only 4ft high tend to be cheaper, a lot depends on condition too.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.
