Larder Fridge icing Up

Hi, our Hotpoint (RLA80) larder fridge (6 ft tall one, no ice box) keeps "growing" a sheet of ice/snow on the top 18 inches of the inside rear panel. This sheet constantly grows & wraps itself around anything close to the rear wall at the top.

I've checked that the unit is level. Also, the door seal looks tight, except for one tiny possible gap where the seal itself "hooks" onto the door frame. This might be a problem but it seems very small, if evena gap at all.

Could the thermostat be gone, or maybe a blockage in the rear workings? I turned it off for 48 hours to see if that would clear it but no difference.

    Any ideas?

Can you hear if the motor is running and switching off ok? it sounds like an internal blockage

From the sounds of it the motor is running constantly.

Have had exactly the same problem with our 5 year old "frost free" Hotpoint freezer. It constantly builds up ice in the back to the point where the door won't close. Have had the service guy out several times and he could find no reason. On his last visit his advice was to jack it up in the front so the water runs off down the back - needless to say that didn't work. His final remark as he left with my €70 was "shur those frost free things never work". Moral of story - don't buy Hotpoint.
