    Hi

Was just wondering why some gyms don't allow kicking of their punch bags. They have signs saying No kicking. Boxing only. I would have thought the primary purpose of punch bags was for high intensity training and working leg muscles is alot more exhausting than just using arms.

Its alot easier to snap a punch bag off the wall by kicking it than punching it.

Because, it wears them out quicker.

I was just wondering what kind of punch bags kick boxing clubs use.
I never realised there was a difference.
They look the exact same as the ones in the gym. Maybe its made of stronger material and more securely fastened ?

I run a fight club and have different bags, some are Boxing only and others are Kicking too, the heavier bags are more suited to kicking as they wont fly about when ya hit them, light boxing bags are very unsuitable for kicking, plus the brackets in the wall need to be heavier also.
