It features a superb cream coloured 230E and its an Irish car 772 AZM, 1984? Small pic of it on the front cover as well.

This car was restored by Mark Cosovich in Wales to factory standard. It also now comes complete with the same warranty that Mercedes offered when the car was new.

He supplies parts for all W123's, these are the only Mercs he is interested in.I know Mark well and he does a fab job.You basically get a brand new W123 and if I had the cash thats what in would spend it on........best car in the world IMO.

He has done probably 20 or more cars for Ireland, most are UK cars but there are one or two Irish ones, including a limo I believe.

What does it cost to have this done?I saw one on his stand on the Classic Motor show last november,it really is a hell of a job he does.

    ............if you have to ask.....:D

Seriously, he strips it to a shell, all parts are new, the front and rear subframes are powder coated, the engine and transmissions rebuild and detailed, all new rubber everywhere............savage job.

The final price of course depends on the model and spec but if you imagine a really decent W123 that needs some DIY .....but has zero rust is hard to find and most likely in the €6-9k bracket then I reckon after all that labour you could be talking €15k. Thats sounds like a lot...but what other new car could you get for that money ??

It's a tempting prospect to do it... but I know if I paid for such a comprehensive resto I would be afraid to drive the car as a daily and then such work would be wasted.

I took out my W123 for the first time this year last weekend. I know they're slow and wallowy but the build quality and ride really cannot be matched.

I think you'd have to take the attitude that you were buying it as an alternative to a brand new everyday car, and treat it as such. You could always send it back to him after say ten years for a freshen-up.;)
