    Hi there,

I have been living in fingal (North Dublin) for seven years now. I am planning to built an eco home and are currently looking for a site.

I keep coming across on daft, myhome.ie etc that sites can only be sold to people matching the Rural Housing Policies! That means that someone outside of the area cannot build.

    My questions are:
Is this the whole of the Fingal area?
How long do you have to be living in an area to be considered a local or is it purely farmers that can apply?
They mention that these policies apply to areas of green belt, and basically areas of natural beauty. Is there a map available for these areas?
Have I any hope of getting planning permission in the North Dublin area?
