    I'm worried about this one.

We need a win to keep up with Spurs, to make Villa regret drawing yesterday, and to put extra pressure on Pool.

    Queue a spectacular defeat.

City should be able to beat Sunderland today, after all, look what they did to Chelsea recently.
    Should be a great game.

    Come on Darren Bent!

Cana and Cattermole are both out for Sunderland so there is going to be zero competition in midfield unless Meyler has a unbeilevable game

Andy Reid still injured? Sunderland haven't looked the same without him

Sunderland will be without suspended skipper Lorik Cana. The Albania international picked up his tenth booking of the season in Tuesday night's 4-0 win over Bolton and will sit out the City game and Birmingham's visit to the Stadium of Light next weekend.

Lee Cattermole is battling to shake off a hamstring problem, while Kieran Richardson (calf) and Jordan Henderson (ankle) are struggling. Andy Reid (hamstring) will not make the game, but David Meyler is available again after completing a three-match ban.

Manchester City defender Kolo Toure is pushing for a place in the starting line-up against Sunderland on Sunday after recovering from a knee injury. Toure had to settle for a place on the bench in the victory over Chelsea in the club's last outing. Emmanuel Adebayor is absent through suspension while Martin Petrov is injured as City aim to continue their push for a top four place.

Sunderland (from): Gordon, Fulop, Bardsley, Hutton, Turner, Ferdinand, Mensah, Kilgallon, Da Silva, Cattermole, Zenden, Richardson, Malbranque, Henderson, Campbell, Bent, Jones, Benjani, Meyler, Liddle, Noble.

Manchester City (from): Given, Taylor, Richards, Zabaleta, Onuoha, Toure, Lescott, Boyata, Garrido, Sylvinho, Bridge, Johnson, Wright-Phillips, Ireland, Vieira, Barry, De Jong, Ibrahim, Tevez, Bellamy, Santa Cruz.

City should win but do you hate seeing a midfield three like that?

    Absolutely. Mr. Negative strikes again.

No need for Zabaleta in there. Johnson should be on the wing to make it a nice 4-4-2.

Or Ireland in the middle for a proper 4-5-1/4-3-3. I know he's Italian but he's more negative than you could imagine.

    it's quite funny really.

City's best player last year too.

he'd get in all the top 6 teams pretty much.

if we were selling gerrard in the summer, he'd be a great purchase wit plenty of change if the figures for gerrard are to be believed. baffling from City.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,468 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

i know it's early in his reign and all, and the last game was a great away victory against Chelsea...

but i don't see Mancini lasting long.

yeah he's suffering from a broken heart.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Thats a red card no over the top of the ball with his studs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Bridge was carrying an injury during training this week and didn't complete Friday's session.

i think he was lucky he's so bad at tackling he caught the ground instead of the ball.
