Hi,my mother hurt her arm pretty bad and is getting on a bit,we are thinking of either selling her car and getting an automatic or maybe converting it.
Does anyone know what sort of price range we're talking about, she has a Mazda 3 saloon 2007,also is there specialist garages that do it around Ireland?
I'd imagine it would be pretty expensive, but trying to sell a car right is something we are not looking forward to.
    Cheers in advance

I think the cost would be unrealistic compare to selling it privately and buying an automatic. Plus a car that auto from factory would be more reliable imo

I'd say forget about trying to convert it. The auto box alone would be upwards of 5k, along with all the other running gear needed.

You'd save more money by selling it at the right price - NOT what you think it is worth - and buying an auto.

Even if you sourced a second hand auto box. The complications with ECU and other electric gubbins would make it a difficult/specialist job.

Your better off trying to sell and buy a factory automatic.

With the money the conversion would cost, you could probably buy a decent small auto and still keep the Mazda.

you should go to the dealer you got it off or go to a mazda dealer if you bought privately and ask about a trade for an automatic?
