Just wondering if anyone knows if any new channels will be added to Chorus Ntl ?, along with recent arrivals like: ITV 2,3,4, Sky Arts 1, Sky Real Lives and FX.
    Thank You:)

Well they really should add C4 HD along with the upcoming ITV HD, as well as FX HD and SciFi HD.

Yes all the Sky HD channels would also be nice, but that is up to negotiations with Sky.

Of course this all begs the question: "Does UPC have the capacity for all of these new HD channels?"

I heard we were supposed to get a food channel and Yesterday(channel), but there has been no sign of them. Hopefully we will get them before the end of the year as they are both quality channels.

The only place I heard that we were supposed to get these channels was on this very website.

Is there some other source that people have? I never heard anything from UPC announcing same.

IIRC, UPC customer service where saying over the phone that they were going to add these, along with the channels that we have recently got.

Ch4 hd would be great, maybe E4 hd too?

They say they are in negotiations with Sky

They would have the capacity if they removed Smile & some of the other terrible channels;)

The problem is HD channels take up a lot more space then SD channels.

I guess they may have to start looking at removing the analogue channels to make space for all the new HD channels coming.

perhaps with the upgrades they've done to the network the capacity is there to add these extra HD channels, given that we're gonna see more and more in the not too distant future they'd have been mad not to.

I really hope they add ITV HD as this will serve as a kick in the arse to RTÉ to get their own HD channel up and running. Surely they'll lose out in the world cup if both ITV and BBC HD are available, also their Wednesday champions league could suffer and I've no doubt ratings will have taken a hit this year with home Ireland 6N games being done in HD on BBC. While it would be great to have the world cup in HD it would be awesome to have the Hurling in HD.
