PS3 HDMI Video Output

Had my PS3 working fine outputting video & audio via HDMI. Somoeone then took the HDMI cable out to use it for something else, I re-connected it to the PS3 and now when I select 'output video through HDMI' I get a blank screen!

The cable works fine and when I reset the system it said 'A HDMI cable was detected' (on the AV SCART channel) and I selected yes, output through HDMI, switched over to my HDMI channel and nothing! Just a blank screen and I have to restart again! Tried selecting no, going into display settings and selecting HDMI there but its the same and I end up just waiting 30 secs for it to switch back.

    Very frustrating! Can anyone help?

Power off (plug out) the Ps3 and your TV for a few seconds and try again

    I had the same problem...

If the first 2 suggestions dont work..

Do a hard reset, you can skip the reformat step though. But it might help if you want to try it. (backup before though) ...

then redo the first two suggestions...

    Might help...

All the above didnt help didnt help me. (although i didnt reformat it...)..
It turned out that my hdmi port was broken... so i had to get a replacement... - problem was id lost my receipt so i had to pay 160 for a refurbished console...

Thanks guys! Was actually worried the HDMI port was the problem but I got a cheap HDMI cable off Amazon and miraculously its working:) so turned out to be the original cable. Thanks for the suggestions!

Maybe your TV is in some sort of zoom mode?

If pixels are mapped properly, it shouldn't cut off edges.
