Good lord !! back running today after over a month out due to injury and while my legs were ok my lungs went on fire ! After I finished the run my lungs nearly burnt a hole through my chest.

Only thing for it I guess is to get out running again maybe tomorrow or Monday until it goes away.

    Any tips people ?

    Cheers
    Neon

Now that you mention it I seem to remember similar myself after having an extended break from running for various reasons. Apart from when it was actually a wasting away leg that was the cause for the lay off, the lungs did seem to loose their "fitness" quicker than the legs did.

No tips though, other than keep running and it will pass soon enough.

I love the feeling of clearing gunk out from the bottom of your lungs when you've done your first really hard session in ages :)

I had exactly the same thing happen when I got back running after several weeks off. The first run was by far the worst - it won't be nearly so bad on your next run... it doesn't last long.

    Thanks for the replies all.....

Think I'll try and get out tomorrow for a run. It was very painful for about 10 minutes after the run not nice at all.
