Lost signal on Chorus digital set-top box - any suggestions?

I had to disconnect the wires on my TV / Chorus set-up to put in a new TV cabinet. Since I connected them back up, there is no signal through the Chorus set-top box. I rang Chorus and they checked with me that I had all the wires reconnected correctly, but to no avail - still no signal. They have booked in a service call for Monday, but I'm just wondering if anyone can suggest something for me to try so that I can have TV over the weekend!

    Thanks for any help.

No signal to your TV (ie. black screen where chorus should appear) or no signal on the box ("a problem with the signal reception" message)?

The second one - i.e. no signal on the box.

I have same issue since yesterday. I can only see msg that set top box is being updated. I also rang UPC, but no joy. they have only booked technician for monday. But if there is more ppl from same area ringing.. they could send out somebody on weekends as well...

btw.. no TV (digital/analog) and not Broadband

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere then. Do you have a chorus grid aerial on your house somewhere? If you do, you should have a black transformer box in behind your TV somewhere. Make sure all the connections are tight, connected to the correct ports on the power supply and that the co-ax hasn't become loose from the screw plug on the end of it when you were shifting stuff around.

    Hey,

You wont believe what happened with my UPC. As I kinda suspected, it wasn't a tech issue that left me with no TV and Internet. On friday, without any notice, UPC came to disconnect the cable, because previous tenants canceled their contract. Which is fine.:mad::mad:

But is it so hard to check that new contract is already signed? And it has only been installed 3 days ago???

it's just very bad experience and it only shows lack of communication between departments in UPC (if any)

    but what can I do...
