    NBC’s Rockford Files reboot has another cast member.
    Alan Tudyk has joined the cast of the David Shore-produced remake. He’ll play LAPD sergeant Dennis Becker, the role played in the original by Joe Santos.
    Dermot Mulroney has been tapped to succeed James Garner as Jim Rockford.

    Joe Flanigan or Nathan Fillion would be my choices as Rockford :p

    I can easily see Joe Flanigan in the role. Not too sure about Dermot Mulroney. Sadly the show Will probably be a flop.

    Theres only one Jim Rockford. That character is defined by James Garner. It's all so wrong. Nobody could replace Garner.

    Beau Bridges will play Dermot Mulroney’s father in NBC’s Rockford Files remake. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bridges will tackle the gruff, truck-driving paternal role originally portrayed by actor Noah Beery Jr. Mulroney plays Jim Rockford, the rascal private investigator famously played in the 1970s by James Garner.

    NBC has reportedly decided to drop The Rockford Files.

    The show, a remake of the 1970s series, was being developed by House creator David Shore, with Steve Carell lined up to produce.

    Dermot Mulroney had signed up to star as Jim Rockford, while Beau Bridges had also joined the cast.

    However, Deadline claims that NBC was disappointed by the completed pilot. The show was recut but the new version also allegedly failed to convince the network.

    A redevelopment of the concept is reportedly still possible.
